I am a big fan of the old-school communication ways, ie. Sending something via the post. There is something so heartwarmingly special about receiving a letter or postcard that someone has taken the time to choose and write. I am often guilty of using quotes to embellish my scribbles, as there is no point inventing the wheel if it has already been written beautifully. Some quotes I reuse, others I enjoy finding and storing for the right occasion.
As for jokes, that is a fondness that I have inherited from my father. They are often terrible jokes that only incur a sympathetic ‘haha’, but occasionally there are some real corkers that are a treat to hear and that send me into a giggling fit before I get to sharing the punch line with the listener.
In the meantime…Dad, the floor is yours!
